Dungeons For Dummies
☰ Synopsis
In Dungeons For Dummies you slip into the role of a first-time dungeon master, eager to tell his protégé an epic story of absolutely monumental size. But gosh, that dude is really out of control: he doesn't care for your finely crafted stories at all! All he wants is a 'big-ass dungeon' and 'becoming filthy rich'. Being the dungeon master, it looks like you will have to grant him his wishes and construct an absolutely foolproof dungeon. Though you better hurry - that guy's patience is a ticking time bomb!
This game was created solo during the 48 hours of the GMTK2020 gamejam using the GODOT engine. If you've never heard of it, give it a go - it's free and open source, capable of 2D and 3D and an excellent choice for game prototyping.
The game is played with a mouse.
☰ Known Issues
- I forgot to include the story intro. .___. (1st screenshot)
- To retry after reaching the gameover-screen you have to press "Space", so that part needlessly requires a keyboard.

Really fun, I haven't seen another game that plays like this one does. :)
Thank you for playing. I found it quite unique as well. But of course I'm biased, so hearing it from you is even better. :D
I like this game! There's a surprising amount of depth to it, and its actually quite mentally stimulating trying to manage the cards in your hand. It's a lot of fun. It's also a really cool concept that I could totally see explored, like different types of rooms, maybe different levels that have unique challenges, etc. I managed to get to 147 rooms playing this. Very epic, two thumbs up.
I cannot even begin to tell you how heartwarming it felt to read such a comment during the first few hours of the jam! Thank you soooo much for the kind words! I definitely have some cool ideas how to explore this concept further once the jam is over. 147 rooms sounds crazy though - I don't think I ever got this far during playtesting!
Really cool mechanic I haven't seen before. Would love to see a full version of this :)

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! I'll likely continue to work on this post-jam, so stay tuned for more & prettier gameplay. :)
